I do believe there might be an intelligent cause which created rules of the Universe. And I believe it, because believing in a sort of accidental sequence of events is depressing. I choose colours of hope instead of dark hopelessness. Nothing on this issue can be proved nor refuted.

I suppose its an optimist/pessimist argument, but I believe it to be even more depressing that we have some grand overlord above us that is so cruel as to let me be born in an area of the world where I can live happily, while millions are starving/raped/diseased in some other country. Why create something so cruel?

Openmindedness is to me the best opinion to have on the subject. Whether personal experiences or what you are taught decides what you believe then its up to you. We only know that we exist since we think, anything beyond that could be a lie.

Mathematically and scientifically speaking, there existed a point in time and space which contained all forms of matter pre-big bang. We as beings that live in the universe that this point eventually expanded into, have no knowledge of the state of things at that time. Therefore its my belief that if there ever was such a thing as god, it would probably have to be that point, which was the entirety of space, time, matter, and even ideas(if you're familiar with the mathematical model of the universe, it lists ideas and concepts as forms of matter) because there exists nothing bigger, grander, or more intelligent than that.

Yes. I believe in an entity of pure love and reason that is the universe. I do not believe that this entity necessarily has supernatural powers, though I do not rule it out a priori. I believe that the magic that we see in the universe just as it is, the beauty of consciousness and the incredible symphony of the spheres, is awe-inspiring enough.

Too vague a question... would be better served with "what do you think god is?".

My god, and your god, if either of us have one, are going to be two entirely different animals.

Question: which god? This is pure ignorance of other religions...

Usually God with the upper case "G" is a reference to the god of Christianism, Judaism and Islam.

god as most christians/catholics believe was likely made up long ago when the hunter gathers started to form tribes and they started to talk about where they came from. eventually 'god' became popular and more and more less educated people felt that they had to fit in. societies were smaller and if you weren't with the in crowd, you were out, unless an individual had some sort of influence.

most religions were invented when most people couldn't even read(didn't have the need or desire), so word of mouth made 'god' and most needed some sort of belonging that wasn't too complicated.
