If someone treats you unfairly in a non-personal situation, is it better to fight for the justice, or to let it be?

If someone treats you unfairly in a formal or non-personal situation, and it's not a person you must deal with in the future – for example a public administration worker, company worker, a doctor, or just a random person you meet that day – but clearly needs a lesson to be taught, or to be held accountable for their actions, at the same time their "guilt" being something you could simply let go, is it better to fight for the justice, or to let it be?

This is a broad question and it all depends on the circumstances. But in general, which life attitude would you say is better? What does your intuition say?
